Libby said people are always referring to what she’s been through and how wonderful she is to have come through it the way she has. But, she feels the people who care about her and support her are the ones who are wonderful and make a difference.
“You have to learn to say yes when you have cancer,” she said. “You have to receive help. It’s hard for some people to do and at first it was hard for me I guess, but once you accept the love (from others) you get the help you need.”
“My friend Esther (Settle) got cancer after me. She let me help her and helping her has helped me. I could never say enough about Esther Settle, she has meant so much to me. I could never say enough about my friend.”
Esther and Libby are known for their work with the cancer support group in the community and with the American Cancer Society.
