On this Mother’s Day I think of another Anna, my own mother. She died on January 26, 1983. I still miss her so very much. She taught us so much about Godly character. If your mother is living, don’t let this day pass without telling her how much you appreciate her. (Personally, I prefer it in writing since it becomes a source of encouragement in the months and years that follow.) Mothers, also remember your daughters today. Let them know how special they are and how much you love them.

Source for Origin of Mother’s Day: A Mother’s Sourcebook of Inspiration, by Eleanor Doan. We presented this book to my mother on her birthday, April 25, 1979. Each of us eleven children had written some childhood memories inside its covers.
