Rappahannock County Elementary School will host the Scholastic Book Fair‘(Books on Tour) through May 19. The Fair will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each weekday.
This reading event will offer students, parents and teachers the opportunity to see the latest works by popular authors and illustrators of books from young readers.

Holds Meeting
Approximately 300 members and guests attended the 1997 Farm Credit Association annual meeting held on April 10 at the Remington Lions Club. Highlights of the evening was the announcement of a patronage divided to current member/borrowers in the amount of $2,700,000 (the equivalent of two months interest).
Distribution will be in the form of cash and allocated surplus. In addition, Board and Management reports for 1996 were presented and elections held to fill four positions on the Board of Directors.
Paul House of Nokesville, Bobby Goodwin of Spotsylvania/Orange, Greg Smith of Culpeper and Charles Thornton of Madison were elected to three-year terms on the Board.
At a subsequent meeting of the Board on April 24, Allan Thorbum of Fredericksburg was re-elected board chairman and Robert Goodwin of Orange was re-elected as vice-chairman. Jesse Surles of Warrenton was also re-elected chairman of the audit committee.
