me Virginia Beef Cook-Oil is an annual event sponsored by the Virginia Cattle Women and the Virginia Cattle Industry Board in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. This year’s event was held April 25 at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds in Harrisonburg.
Locally. Toni Updike of Washington is secretary for the Virginia CattleWomen Association and attended the event. According to Mrs. Updike the attendance was great and the CattleWomen were busy passing out brochures and other information. There were samples available and much information pertaining to beef and ways to cook up delicious dishes for your family.
The CattleWomen are also busy seeking youngsters to do a cover design for their new children’s book which will be available soOn. A $50 just prize will be given. In order to participate in the contest drawing or for those interested in joining the Virginia CattleWomen Association call Mrs. Updike at 675-3747.
