On some current political issues, Davis lines up on the same side as his opponents — namely, he is pro-life.

The youngest candidate for attorney general is 35-year-old Jerry Kilgore, a native of Scott County who until December served as secretary of public safety in the Allen Administration. He resigned to run for office.

Kilgore, in his 11-year legal career, has served as both a state and a federal prosecutor. In his three years on the governor’s cabinet, Kilgore oversaw 11 state public safety agencies, 16,000 employees and budget of $1 billion.

Since February, he has promoted his “Honest Government Bill of Rights’’ to make state government “more open, fair and honest.”
