Race a Truly
Great Event
To the Editor:
On April 26 I completed my second Fodderstack 10-K run, and wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the people who helped make the race a truly pleasurable event.
The involvement of the entire community, particularly that of the many young people, make this yearly athletic meet something special. Whether the participants are running, walking a dog, or toting a baby, everyone who crosses the finish line is cheered on to whatever personal victory that person is experiencing. It is exhilarating and heartwarming.
I was accompanied on the run this year by out-of-town friends who are avid, serious runners, and who have completed some 6 or 8 marathons between them. All agreed this was one of the nicest race .days they had experienced. All of you from the start to finish line who worked so hard, as well as the cheering spectators, have our warmest thanks — you made us all feel like winners.

Citizens Are
Paying Enough
he Editor:
I am disgusted with our Board of Supervisors for passing this massive school budget increase. I am also disgusted with this newspaper for keeping this budget, real estate, and property tax increase almost hidden from public view until it was too late.
In passing this school budget increase, the Board of Supervisors is claiming that the citizens are not paying enough taxes. This is outrageous and lacks compassion for working people who can barely make it now. If
