On May 5 a group of us met at the mouth of Wharton Hollow for the second reunion at the Keyser homestead on Red Oak Mountain. This was formally the “Golden Place,” and later owned by Mr. Cahill, currently owned by Paul and Jeanette Barkley.
The weather for Saturday was suppose to be so bad, so after some phone calling and decision making, it was changed to Sunday.
The cancellation made it difficult for some who had planned to come, this cutting the number of people, but the spirit and enjoyment was just as great.
Mr. and Mrs. Barkley and Mr. Robert Leishman, neighbor of the family homestead, were interested in hearing more history from the past as well
