The classes will be taught in a new studio at Oldway which will be used as a demonstrating and teaching facility. Ms. Brennan will be moving her operation into the building from another smaller building on the Oldway property in time for the beadmaking class.
She said that glassblower Eric Kvarnes will also be moving a lot of his glassblowing equipment into the building for demonstration purposes. Seating will be installed at a later date so that visitors can watch visiting artists show how they create work.
De’Danann Glassworks was formerly known as Sundance Studio. Ms. Brennan, who is also known as Patti Mullan, is now expanding her stained glass business to produce Celtic designs on glass, using different methods including sandblasting.
She has been attending Celtic festivals with her artwork, and will be at the Celtic Festival at Oatlands, six miles south of Leesburg on Route 15, on June 21 and 22.
