Prayer.
The purpose of creating a Commonwealth Day of Prayer was to encourage Virginians of all religious backgrounds and denominations to gather and pray for their leaders, their state government, and their local communities. Also, Virginians can take this opportunity to remind themselves of the religious freedoms which are secured for them by the laws of this Commonwealth.
