nesting site year after year, I was not surprised when they built in this location. They had a nest there last year.
I have decided that there are three pair of robins nesting around this house. Another pair is on the other side; they spend much time in the big elm and maple trees. Another pair is near the garage. Boundaries between territories seem to be firmly established. I am convinced there is an area of the wide side lawn on which all six search for earthworms. It appears the robins have reached an agreement about this.
Frequent, vicious and prolonged battles were fought before the boundaries were established. Robins fought through the elm branches, chased each other back and forth over the yard and screamed insults. This went
