family and friends in Washington, Butler lived and worked as a federal employee in the northern Virginia/DC area until 1994. She moved’ back to Washington with her husband when they retired Her mother Erma Jenkins, her son Jeff and daughter-in-law Jeanne and two grandchildren also live in town. Jeff owns Washington Motorworks. Butler says that while she worked for the government, she “learned how to get along with people, to listen and communicate effectively, and to be able to compromise.”
