In the first county caucus in the 10th Congressional District, Rappahannock County’s Democrats unanimously chose Cornell Brooks’ delegates to represent the county in the District Convention. Five Delegates were elected by a landslide to nominate Brooks as the Democratic candidate to oppose Frank Wolfe, incumbent Republican, in the upcoming Congressional election.
More than 65 Rappahannock residents turned out at the library on Monday evening for the caucus that was the most widely attended in recent history. The slate of candidates for delegate included five for Brooks apd one for the Lyndon LaRouche Democratic candidate, Nancy Spannaus.
Brooks, a former Justice Department attorney, Yale Law School graduate and AME minister who credits the Head Start Program for his achievements, characterized Rappahannock’s caucus as the “New Hampshire of the 10th Congressional District.”
