She has also been inspired by many areas in Rappahannock including her home at Rock Mills which sits atop a hill overlooking the stream below through the trees.
“I felt it would be nice for my friends here to see some of my work. We have made many good friends in the years we’ve lived here. If I close these paintings up in a closet no one will ever see them.” Her husband is retiring and she has had to bring her work home.
Berman said she may sell some works but is not sure which ones. “I’ve never really done that.” Many of them feature her children in various scenes, landscapes or portraits.
Her show will be on display until May 31.
