Garden Club to
offer scholarship
The Rappahannock County Garden Club will once again offer the Francis J. Leonard Memorial Scholarship to a senior in Rappahannock County for the purpose of continuing his or her education.
A grant of $1500 will be awarded to a student enrolling in a four year college or university. $1,000 will be given the first year with $500 in the second year.
An applicant must be a resident of Rappahannock County, a member of this year’s graduating class (home-schooled or other schools), be accepted at an accredited four year school, have a need for financial assistance and be recommended by three non-relative residents of Rappahannock County. Applications for the grant are available at the guidance department of the Rappahannock County High school or from Mrs. H.B. Wood, 987-8886. The deadline for returning the applications is May 24, 1999.
