Sunday, May 9 is Mother’s Day! What perfect time to thank that special person who doctored you when you were ill, bandaged your hurt knee, laughed at your antics, and loved you unconditionally.
The week of May 3 through May 7 is Teacher Appreciation Week. We are fortunate to have some of the finest teachers working with our children. Take a moment to say a word of thanks and encourage your child to do the same. Each and every person needs a little pat on the back to know their work is not in vain.
Amissville lost one of its own last Wednesday, April 28 with the passing of Lilia Mae Tolbert who was 101 years old. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Forrest Freeman of Bethel Baptist Church on Saturday, May 1.
Memorial donations on behalf of Ms. Tolbert may be sent to the National Kidney Foundation, 5001 West Broad Street, Suite 217, Richmond, Va. 23230. Our sincere sympathy is extended to her friends and family.
