• On May 7 third grade students at RCES will take a field trip to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. to see the play “Young Thomas Edison”. They will also be treated to a tour of the Kennedy Center.
• Headwaters, the Rappahannock County Public Education Foundation, is now recruiting rising middle and high school stcidants to participate in their second exciting summer program. On May 20, Theresa Light will host two assemblies sponsored by Headwaters, to give parents and students in grades 6-12 an idea of what this year’s program, “Heart Cries of a Captive People”, is all about. The first assembly will be at RCES at 12 and the second will be at RCHS at 2 p.m. If you have a student in one of the appropriate grades, please plan to attend one of the presentations to learn more about this wonderful opportunity.
• Now, for the news we’ve all been awaiting...SOL (Standards of Learning) testing will take place at RCHS during the morning hours from May 4 through May 13. Please encourage your kids to do their best. Being well rested and eating a healthy breakfast each morning will make your child much more comfortable during testing. Less Stress equals Better Test Performance.
