The Rappahannock County Board of Zoning Appeals held its monthly meeting on April 29.

The board acted on three family apartment requests that the county Planning Commission forwarded for approval at their last meeting.

• The board heard first from Mrs. Virginia Compton. She had applied for a special use permit so that she may convert an existing garage into an apartment for her son and his wife.

After a brief discussion, the application was unanimously approved pending Department of Transportation and Virginia Department of Health (VDH)approval.

• Paul Bledsoe addressed the board next. He has recently purchased a piece of property in Chester Gap. He wishes to construct a main house for himself and his wife, and a separate apartment for his father.

The property in question is in a private subdivision.
