Lilia Mae Tolbert, 101, of Amissville died on Wednesday, April 28 at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.
Miss Tolbert was born March 19, 1898 in Culpeper County, a daughter of the late George Meredith Tolbert and Mary Magdalene Lawson Tolbert.
She was a teacher for Fauquier County Public Schools for 42 years until her retirement.
She had taught at the former Waterloo School (the site of the current Waterloo Baptist Church), the Central Elementary School and the former Rosenwald High School.
