A main concern, of Massie is the roof project. He wants roof repair to be a top priority, as the roof at the high school is leaking. Board member Robert Anderson echoed Massie’s concerns.
The board voted 4-1 to approve a bottom-line budget, as opposed to a line-by-line budget.
Ron Frazier was the dissenting vote, saying that it should be approved line-byline.
As far as the total amount of funding, the board unanimously approved a figure of just over $7,713,232. This represents an increase of just over $410,000 from last year.
Local funds were set at $4,536,934.95, which is a drop of over $128,000 from last year. The rest will come from other sources, including state and federal funds.
