J.V. Softball
The J.V. Softball team was very busy last week, playing three games in five days.
The Lady Panthers were at home Monday against Stonewall Jackson. Rappahannock defeated the Generals 19-1 in five innings.
Rachel Sharp was on the mound for the Panthers. She struck out 13 batters, walked three, and allowed no hits. This is the second game this season in which she has thrown a nohitter. The Panthers also had a great day at the plate, belting out 18 hits.
The Panthers traveled to Manassas Park on Tuesday and defeated the Cougars 12-0. Sharp had another outstanding day on the mound, striking out 19, walking three and allowing two hits. Rappahannock had their best game at the plate all season, getting 19 hits. Robyn, Dodson, Amy Clinedinst, Amber Welch, and Alicia Jones all contributed to the offense.
On Friday, the Panthers hosted Madison and won 9-2. Sharp had another solid game on the mound, striking out 11, walking three and allowing three hits.
The Panthers have only two home games left, against Manassas Park on May 10 and Brentsville on May 14.
