Headwaters (The Rappahannock County Public Education Foundation) is now recruiting rising middle and high school students to participate in their exciting summer program called “Heart-Cries of a Captive People.” Public, Private and Home schooled students are welcome and encouraged to participate in this program.
Headwaters is sponsoring two assemblies on Thursday, May 20 to give parents and students an idea of what “Heart-Cries” is all about. The first assembly will take place at 12 at Rappahannock County Elementary School, and the second at 2 p.m. at Rappahannock County High School. Featured performers will be the Albemarle/Monticello High School Step team. This group has brought audiences as far away as the Caribbean to their feet with their military-style rhythm dancing. Special thanks goes to the Curriculum Enrichment Committee for providing the funds to bring this group to Rappahannock County.
Also performing at these assemblies will be a quartet of saxophonists from our own high school band and a well known public speaker who is herself a high school student from Prince William County.
