One neighbor, Charles Cooper, thought that the subdivision had covenants which imposed a limit of one dwelling per lot.
County Administrator John McCarthy commented that the county cannot enforce any such covenants, and suggested checking the deed to see if any covenants exist.
Cooper has no problem with Bledsoe’s father living on the property. He does, however, have a problem with the fact that someone else could occupy the apartment after two years.
John Harris, another neighbor, also voiced opposition to the application. He thought that the Bledsoes could add extra rooms onto the main house. He was also concerned that an extra dwelling on the lot would harm property values.
