At the reception, a buffet style dinner was provided by the groom’s mother and the bride’s mother. June Compton and Eileen Waller helped in the preparation and the serving of the food.
The tiered wedding c^ve was done in white, with red roses draping over the cake and featur 1 a lighted flowing fountain. It was prepared by the bride’s aunt, Mrs. Peggy Atkins.
Musical entertainment at the reception was provided by D.J. Connection of Front Royal.
Pre-wedding events included a bridal shower at the Washington fire hall given by the bridal party, Peggy Atkins and the bride’s mother, Mrs. Betty Walter. The bride and her friends also enjoyed a bachelorette party in Charlottesville.
The bride’s grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Virgil L. Atkins of Sperryville and Mr. and Mrs. John T. Harrison of Viewtown and the late Thomas L. Walter.
The groom’s grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Caleb T. East of Woodstock and Ms. Abby Abernathy of Front Royal.
The bride is currently employed at Faith Mountain in Sperryville as an administrative assistant and the groom is employed by J.D. Eicher Builders, Inc. in. Warrenton as a carpenter.
Following a honeymoon to the Poconos, Pa. the couple is residing in Washington.
