There is a bid alternate for sod in lieu of seed and, if that bid is acceptable, then springtime use of the field will be assured.
Superintendent David Gangel asserted that it was his intent to have the field up and ready for baseball next spring, regardless of the alternate selected.
The school construction contract should also be let by July, 1999 with construction completed by spring of next year. The facility will be student-ready for the 2000-2001 school year.
Site work, including excavating and parking lot grading, should be complete by the end of this summer.
