Mabel Woodward McClanahan nee Bowen, formerly of Old Hollow, now of Warrenton celebrated her 90th birthday on Tuesday, April 27.
She was born in Rappahannock in 1909 to the late Oakley and Lizzie Atkins Bowen. She is the eldest in a family of nine siblings, five of whom are deceased, the baby of the family still living at age 75.
Mrs. McClanahan is a member of Thornton Gap Primitive Baptist Church where she attends regularly.
Twice widowed, she is still fairly vigorous for her years. We wish to extend to her our best wishes and hope for many more wonderful years.
The Sperryville United Methodist Church will have worship service at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 9. Rev. Merlin Shorb, pastor invites the public to attend.
Congratulations are extended to Lisa and Eric Wimer upon the birth of a their daughter, Jessica Leigh on April 27 at Fauquier Hospital.
