Ragged Mountain activities set

The following activities have been scheduled through Ragged Mountain Resource Center. More information may be obtained by calling Hunt Harris at 987-3366.

Saturday, May 8: “Blue Ridge to the Bay” Second Saturday Hike Series to upper Rappahannock River tributaries in the Shenandoah National Park. Destination: Robinson River of Rapidan River sub-watershed along White Oak Canyon and Cedar Run Trail loop. Bring food for self and layered clothing according to the weather of the day. Note:$5 SNP trail fee or annual pass required on this hike. Meet at Mountainside Market, 987-9100 between 8-8:30 a.m. and return mid-to-late afternoon. Contact Hunt Harris at 987-3366

Saturday, May 22: Hughes River Clean-up Project Anyone interested in working together to clean the Hughes River from the Shenandoah National Park Boundary to the confluence with the Hazel River should contact Hunt Harris at 987-3366. This will be from early morning to late afternoon and anyone participating is welcome to join the TFR party on the Hughes River at John Kiser’s from 4 p.m. until...?

Saturday, May 22: Trash Free Rappahannock ‘99 Party John Kiser wi|l be hosting this year’s TFR party at his home at the end of Popham’s Ford Road off Rt. 707. Anyone who participated in TFR ‘99 as well as family and friends, and anyone interested in litter and recycling efforts in the area, is welcome to attend. Call John at 987-8445 if interested in attending or helping.
