Two larcenies lead this week’s crime report. On the night of April 25, four hanging baskets were taken from Ivan Hall’s Roadside Stand. In a separate incident, a garden tiller was taken sometime between the evening of April 23 and the morning of April 26 from a residence on Crest Hill Road in Flint Hill. Investigations are ongoing for both incidents.
Speeders caught
Complaints about speeding motorcyclists near Flint Hill have resulted in the arrest of two persona over the weekend. One motorcycle was clocked at over 70 mph and the other at more than 60 mph. Michael Lauterbach, 42, of Marshall, and another person who was not identified were arrested. Capt. Jeffrey Brown of the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office apprehended and charged the alleged speeders.
School incidents
It was reported that three or four shots were fired in the vicinity of Rappahannock Elementary School last week.
The sound of shots outside caused concern for school personnel, who called the Sheriff's Office.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that a resident in the area was shooting at groundhogs.
Captain Brown is investigating three juvenile students at Rappahannock High School for possible charges involving possession of tnha^ products and drug paraphernalia
One student may also be charged with possession of marijuana. The incident occurred on the morning of April 30. On the afternoon of April 30, Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 37 year-old female and charged her with public intoxication.
The subject arrived at the elementary school to pick un a child School staff noticed her intoxicated state, and immediately contacted the Sheriff’s Office.
