She is also the President of Rappahannock Association for Arts in the Community (RAAC). With this position, she is the co-chair for the 4th of July committee.

When I ask Manson how she feels about this county, she replies, “I always loved it here, but it was hard to make a living without a long commute. This is a safe place. We have very good friends here in the community. I do a lot of gardening. My husband was a farmer. He used to raise sheep. He’d like to raise animals again. I like to go up on the drive and watch the sunset.”

Manson grew up in Newport News, but she was born in West Virginia, “Mountains are a part of me. I like to go back to the beach, but only for a week or two.”

Yarn & More is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 12 to 6 p.m. If you are interested in classes call 675-1350 or stop by the shop. Manson is organizing individual and group classes and she will teach in the evening.
