Congratulations to Amissville’s own Jeff Kesner who earned the prestigious Hospice of Rapidan 1998 Outstanding Volunteer of the Year award. Jeff donated 130 hours and logged 1,925 miles during the year. A plaque was given to Jeff by Martha Sukites who is the Volunteer Program Coordinator in appreciation on April 22 during a recognition luncheon. Specials thanks are extended to all volunteers who selflessly give of themselves each and every day.
Ashlee Gooding is a second grader in Fauquier County’s Grace Miller Elementary School who has been battling leukemia for the last four years. She is currently undergoing extensive chemotherapy treatments and her medicine is costly.
To help offset the costs, her school is sponsoring a dinnerdance-auction on Saturday, May 22, 6 p.m. to 12. The casual attire affair will feature a disc jockey, a 50/50 raffle, and an auction. Tickets are $12 per person or $20 per couple and may be purchased by contacting Dana O’Donnell at 439-2057.
Donations of a dessert (cake or pie) are needed for the dinner and volunteers may call Susan Kraus at 937-3353. The support of the Rappahannock community would be greatly appreciated. Our prayers are with you, Ashlee.
