The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth, when Manassas Park scored three of their four runs. The Panthers scored twice in the fifth inning. Jennifer Thomas hit a hard grounder to second with the bases loaded, but the Cougars were unable to get Dana Caldwell at the plate. Her slide knocked the ball away, allowing Crystal Grigsby to score.
The Panthers then had runners at second and third with nobody out, but failed to score again. Sharp allowed only three hits and no walks while striking out seven, but the Panthers lost 4-2.
