Apparently, there are enough Spitfire enthusiasts in the D.C. metro area that demand exceeds the supply. Twice, when inquiring about Spitfires for sale in the metro papers, I was disappointed — the cars were already sold.
Finally, I answered an advertisement under “Antique Classic Cars” in a want-ad publication circulated in the northern Shenandoah Valley.
