Of the six Cross Country teams in the Bull Run District, only four will advance to the Regional level. Rappahannock County High School hosted a meet last Wednesday and will be one of the teams to go to Charlottesville to compete this week.
Along with them from the Bull Run will be first place Clarke County, second place George Mason and third place Madison County.
The RCHS team has been gradually improving which is exactly what coach Mick Strand had hoped. They all peaked at the Districts with sophomore Alex Ramey placing sixth to earn All-District status. Only the top 15 runners can claim that title.
“Ramey can make it all the way to states,” said Strand. “He has already faced two-thirds of these guys in the region and he is right in there with them.”
Not only did Ramey have his personal best run of the season, so did his six teammates. Ramey ranthe difficult, hilly course in 17:29.60 while Kevin Martin made
