Mary Magdalene Dwyer, 89, of Sperryville died Nov. 1 at Culpeper Regional Hospital.
She was bom on July 2, 1915 in Rappahannock County in what is now the Shenandoah National Park to the late Oakley Homer Bowen and Elizabeth Virginia Atkins Bowen.
Mrs. Dwyer, who descended from one of the oldest families in the Rappahannock area, attended Thornton Gap Primitive Baptist Church in Sperryville. She was an active member of the Rappahannock Senior Citizens Group and was a lifelong avid Democrat.
She is survived by her two daughters, Ruth Bowen Dwyer Kiger and her husband, Orville of Sperryville and Jean Elizabeth Dwyer Morris and her husband Tucker of Sperryville; and one daughter
