“I was really pleased with Juan Tisera,” Strand said. “He definitely had a personal best run at 20:07.01.’’
Will Boelte ran the course in 20:53.48 followed by Tom Gillis at 22:27.37 and Ethan Russell at 22:28.69.
Strand credited the success to hard training that had been leading up to this event as all of the runners appeared to peak at just the right time of the season.
With this being Strand’s first year at the helm of this team, he has been amazed at not only the dedication of this group, but also at the amount of fun they have running.
“We started out with just three runners and grew to seven. I have already talked with others who want to come out next season,” the coach smiled with anticipation.
Ramey has a good shot at placing in states this week since he has already faced at least two-thirds of the runners in the region and knows what to expect from his competition.
