Film director. Ron Maxwell, who donated his time and effort to make this event possible, screened a moving film comprised of scenes from his 2003 feature movie, “Gods and Generals,” which captured all the drama, tragedy and excitement of the War Between the States. His thought-provoking commentary on the Civil War and the challenges involved in trying to honestly capture its meaning in 21st Century America gave all who heard it new perspectives to ponder. For this, we are deeply indebted to our new Rappahannock neighbor.
