Grimsley resident Matthew Tucker said that he wasn’t disappointed that nobody got to speak out at the meeting.
“I’m glad they recognized the need;” Tucker said. “I think enough was done and said behind the scenes. We weren’t trying to rub it in.”
The only members of the public to speak on Grimsley Road, before the vote, were residents who attended a 2 p.m. session of the supervisors’ meeting.
Bob Dennis, Phil Irwin and Ibm Walker each made a plea to the board to leave Grimsley Road as it is.
Before, the vote in the evening session, there was a brief discussion about the intersection of Grimsley Road and Ben Venue Road (Route 729), which is steep and blind to traffic coming from Flint Hill.
Moore said the intersection has been added to the sixyear plan, but is near the bottom because of its estimated cost of $200,000.
“We’re definitely looking at it,” Moore said. “Rock is going to drive up the cost. Blasting work does cost quite a bit.”
Moore said the project could be moved up on the list if the supervisors chose to move it. More road concerns
