RCCA meeting
The 2004 RCCA annual meeting will kick off Sunday, Nov. 7 at the Washington Fire Hall with a social at 4 p.m. Participants will hear speaker John McCarthy address 'Threats to Conservation.” A short business meeting at 5 p.m. precedes McCarthy's remarks. The public is welcome.

Spinners and weavers
The next meeting of the Piedmont Spinners and Weavers Guild will be held at the Rappahannock library at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10. Members will assemble knitted squares for afghans to be donated to the children's cancer support organization Project Linus. Volunteers needed
Volunteers are needed to assist Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock counties in their response to medical emergencies such as bioterrorism incidents, large communicable disease outbreaks and natural disasters. Veterans’ Day celebration
Honor veterans at a Veterans’ Day celebration in the gymnasium of Rappahannock County High School on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome. Flags honoring veterans will be displayed in front of the school. Order forms for flags are at the county library, post offices and local businesses.
Mosby dinner banquet
The Col. John S. Mosby Camp #1237 will hold its annual dinner banquet on Saturday, Nov. 13 at Dean's Steakhouse in Front Royal.
