£$• Local author, James Russell will be at the Old *' Sperryville Bookshop to sign copies of his latest book, Resting Rock on Saturday, July 15th between 3:00 p.m. . and 5:00 p.m. The book is a collection of some of Mr. ^ Russell’s favorite folk tales of Rappahannock County of ' the past. At 85, and a native of our county, Mr Russell reveals the humor, tragedy, drama and courage of days gone by in Resting Rock - Ghosts, Memories and Folk Tales. The book is illustrated by local artist and teacher Davette Leonard who will also be at the event to sign copies of the book. # | ;f| In addition to Resting Rock, Mr. Russell’s first book, Beyond the Rim: From Slavery to Redemption in Rappahannock County, Virginia will be available for . * sale at the event. In this widely appreciated book, local- if - ly published by Blackwater Publications and now in it’s 'seventh printing, Mr. Russell relates the stories he remembers hearing from his great-grandmother, Sister •Caroline Terry, of her days as a slave in Rappahannock County.
