The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office is recruiting for a full-time Physician's Assistant at the Adult Detention Center. This position will be responsible for coordinating, implementing and performing inmate and employee health initiatives; and screening for, preventing and medicating inmate illnesses.Qualified applicants must possess knowledge of and ability to complete medical screenings; perform physical exams; perform, read and interpret PPD skin tests; take blood pressure, pulses, respirations and patient temperatures; complete daily medical statistical reports; draw DNA blood samples; conduct drug screenings; and supervise medical treatment of inmates. Preferred applicants should have any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by experience and/or training in routine medical care. Successful applicant must complete continuing education requirements for Physician's Assistants; possess and maintain valid certification as an Emergency Medical Technician; and pass a pre-employment physical and criminal background check. Minimum starting salary is $29,579 effective July 1, 2006.
