Combined with the $300,000 Conservation Easement district and $32,000 cut from the Farmland Preservation Program, the BOS were able to adopt a tax rate of $.58 per $100 of assessed real estate value. After suggesting the cuts several Supervisor expressed concern about the future of the county’s building project and the plan to replenish the county surplus.
“If $.58 don’t cut it, there won’t be a building fund. Just a nice piece of land with lots of wildflowers” said Supervisor Frazier.
