Seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Assistant Chief for its Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management Services. Loudoun County Fire-Rescue is a combination career/volunteer system that provides Fire, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services (ALS & BLS), as well as evolving Special Operation Programs (Hazardous Materials Incident Response and Mitigation, Swiftwater Rescue, Wildland Fire-fighting etc ) This position will have the flexibility to manage the five departmental divisions. Specifically these divisions are Field Operations, Support Services which includes Emergency 911 Center and Office of Emergency Management, Fire Marshal, Emergency Medical Services/ Training/Public Education, and Planning & Administration. Manages and supervises operations within all divisions of the Department of Fire-Rescue, including fiscal and strategic program planning. Performs difficult, broad and influential services for assigned programs ana projects through collaborative efforts with senior staff and senior employees within other county agencies. Plans, establishes and implements division-specific management goals, objectives, policies, procedures and processes for a rapidly growing department. Certifications required include: NFPA Fire Officer II and/or NFA Executive Fire Officer Program, NFPA Fire Instructor II, OSHA Hazardous Materials Operations-Level I Responder, Virginia EMT-B (or equivalent from another state, but must obtain reciprocity within one year of ■employment), and a valid driver's license. Selection process for the position will consist of a review of application, review of Fire Rescue Addendum and an interview process. Fire Rescue Addendum must be included with County job application on or before the date of ad closure. The Fire Rescue Addendum is available directly from the Fire Rescue Department at 703-777-0333. Candidate must successfully complete a background and reference check, NCIC criminal and driving record checks and a medical physical examination, to include substance abuse screening, to be fully eligible for hire.
