Settling in
New Planning Commissioner Gary Settle, after his first planning commission representing the Piedmont District. Settle is a former Rappahannock County Sherriff, and continues to protect the public as First Sergeant of the Area 12 Office of the Virginia State police. Settle was appointed to the Planning Commission last month by New Piedmont Supervisor Tom Taylor, replacing Thomas Junk. Taylor’s appointment of Settle was surprising since Settle had initially considered competing with Taylor for the Piedmont Supervisor position. “It wasn’t bad. It’s a lot of reading,” said Settle of his first meeting.
