Sunnyside Market to Sunnyview LLC, an organization Cole formed with DeBergh and Aqua-Terra, a Maui based company.
DeBergh said that Cole was involved with the land transfers and wanted him to be part of the organization.
“I respect what Cole has done,” said DeBergh, “He could have just held a fire sale and sold it to the highest bidder. Instead he wants the transition to be good for the county and good for the town.” , Earlier this year, Cole transferred other pieces of his Washington area property to Sunnyview LLC. These properties included the corner of 211 next to Washington, The Black Kettle, the Updike tract and the Clopton tract, both of which border Harris Hollow Road leading into Washington.
DeBergh said that the Market, will transfer to Sunnyview in November and it will remain open until then.
“What happens after that remains to be seen,” he said. “I know that a lot of Washington residents, myself included, would like for it to stay open.”
DeBergh said that he did not know what would happen with the land transfered to Sunnyview LLC. “We have no future plan for the properties yet,” he said, “Lately, our focus has been just to keep them intact.
