Senior On Capitol Hill Today

Truman J. Keesey of Washington is scheduled to meet July 26 in Washington, D. C. with members of a presidential committee on aging. Mr. Keesey will join two other Northern Virginians at the meeting: Mrs. Jane Gallaway of Rixeyville, who is president of the Advisory Council to the Area Agency on Aging; and Mrs. Alice Mann, a senior citizen from Warrenton.

Mr. Keesey was not sure of the number of senior citizens who will attend the meeting, but did say participation by people from “nearby Virginia” specifically was requested by Reagan administration officials.

Topics to be discussed include Medicare and Social Security. Admin- , istration officials first will brief senior citizens, then allow time for their views.

The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m., at the new Executive Office Building at 17th and Pennsylvania Avenue. A reception will follow, sponsored by the National Association of Area Councils on Aging (N4A).

Mr. Keesey serves as Rappahannock’s representative to Older Virginians for Action, sponsored by the state’s Democratic party.

A meeting of Rappahannock senior citizens is scheduled August 1 at the courthouse in Washington at 7:30 p.m., Mr. Keesey announces. His goal is to organize a Rappahannock Chapter of the Senior Task Force of the Virginia Democratic Party.
