The news that the Friends of the Rappahannock Library were recently awarded a grant for a reading-lecturediscussion program brought an immediate response. The Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and -Public Policy has awarded the Friends of the Rappahannock Library a grant of $1,060 to be matched by donations and in-kind contributions. The grant is to defray the cost of bringing five scholars to speak at evening meetings to the Library, beginning Monday, Sept. 10th at 7:30.
Professor Joel Foreman of George Mason University will be the keynote speaker. On Monday, Sept. 17, at 7:90, Professor Jan Cohn, Chair of the English Department, George Mason University, will 8peak on Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant by Anne Tyler, a Baltimore writer.
