Clifton created a scale model of the room and the sculpture, then constructed the components of the work in Rappahannock. The sculpture was assembled at the Brock Inn, wire by wire, woven like a basket, building a cumulative tension and creating a selfsupporting structure. It was then hoisted and attached to the walls as the final source of support. The sculpture occupies l(y x 10’ x 10’.
