Special attraction of the four day carnival event will be on Thursday, August 2, with a big-feature parade beginning at &30 p.m.
The newly crowned Mias Virginia 1904, Susan Carter Parker of Covington, will lead the parade. She will be escorted by a local high school band. Miss Parker was crowned Miss Virginia just last Saturday, at the Roanoke Civic Center Auditorium.
Included in the parade will be bands, Shriner units, floats, majorette groups, and antique cars. In addition to Miss Virginia, other beautiful ladies will include Miss Shenandoah Apple Blossom. There also will be a vast array of fire and rescue units.
