It is happening in Chincoteague. Should it occur in Rappahannock? Will it happen?
The answer to these questions and the future of Rappahannock County rests, to a considerable degree, in the hands of the county’s planners, supervisors, zoning board and, ultimately, the people of Rappahannock.
Right now, Rappahannock’s future course is being molded. Just last week, planning commissioners and supervisors met jointly to discuss the proposed new county zoning ordinance.
The public will have an opportunity to take part in these proceedings, too, when a public hearing takes place August 15.
Is Rappahannock destined to be or not to be the same fine place in the future as it has been in the past?

At that time in Rappahannock, we were blessed by a Commonwealth Attorney, George Davis, who would not have any part of massive resistance. He refused to deny black people their constitutional rights, and insisted that the constitution be enforced in Rappahannock.
When contrasted to those who supported massive resistance, one sees a man of vision and valour, a true conservative who believed in individual rights, one whose actions stand the test of history and need an apology.
