Pick up toys, games and other little objects from bedroom floors before you go to sleep. This way, you won’t trip on them during the night. Keep night lights in bedrooms of children and elderly so that they can see their way around in the dark.
Bathrooms can be killers. M«l»> sure medicines are out of children’s reach and that outdated medicines are disposed of property. Prevent bathtub and shower falls by installing non-skid strips or mats.
The kitchen is another area of the home that can cause accidents. Only chop food in well lighted areas. Change your light bulbs if some areas are dark. Keep step stools handy for reaching those high shelves. Dont’ risk a fall. Be on the lookout for spills. Always wipe up spills as soon as they occur. Don’t let someone else slip on your spill. Keep household cleaners and insecticides in their original containers and out of the reach of children.
When you cook, be careful. Keep potholders handy and use them.
