Homemakers are encouraged to display their exhibits at the farm show grounds in Culpeper on July 27 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Judging begins at 1 p.m. on Friday. A $1.00 entry fee will be charged each exhibitor and each exhibitor can have only one exhibit of their work in each class. A list of classes may be picked up at the Rappahannock Extension Office. Exhibits may be picked up after 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 29. Florence Vickers, Extension Agent, will transport exhibits if you bring them to the office appropriately boxed, labeled and tagged by Thursday, July 26 at 4:30 p.m.

Volunteers are still needed to work in the kitchen and as hostesses in the home economics building during the farm show. Please call Florence Qeave a message if she is out) at 676-3619 if you can help out for a couple or four hours.

Trip To Hershey Park Scheduled

Fauquier County Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a trip on Wednesday, August 1 by air conditioned chartered bus to Hershey Park in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The bus will leave from Fauquier High School at 7:30 a.m. and return to Fauquier High at 10:00 p.m. Participants may take food and beverages on the bus and will be free to pursue their own interests at the park until meeting the bus for the return trip. Cost of the trip is $20.00 which includes bus transportation and admission ticket to rides and shows. Registration is limited to the first 46 to register and pay at Paries and Recreation, 14 Main St., Warrenton.

Atoka Farm Country Supper

The eighth annual Atoka Country Supper, a highlight on the Commonwealth’s political calendar, will be held Saturday, September 16, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the home of Senator John W. Warner, Atoka Farm near Middleburg.

The rain date for this year’s Supper is Sunday, September 16. Invitations will be mailed in mid-August and tickets will cost $30 per person.
